Jacob Perez is a seasoned leader and professional with 17+ years of experience in innovative sales operations & management, strategic market planning & implementation, and new business opportunity development in multiple geographies. Mr.Jacob is the founder of a consulting firm, VwinN, and prior to that he had held senior positions with Bharti Airtel Limited, Spice Telecom and Wrigley. He has been an exemplary negotiator and motivator with proven ability to create and nurture professional relationships and mentor sales staffs. He has a strong track record for creating outstanding marketing strategies, sales plans, facilitating cost control, improving profit margins, and conducting financial and operational analyses. He has managed profit and loss functions for the companies he worked for, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director.
As Vice President Sales & Marketing with Bharti Airtel Limited - Kerala Circle, he was instrumental in developing new strategies, streamlining overall sales and marketing operations leading to revenue growth and better operating margins for the company. Under his dynamic leadership, the company achieved higher market share and subscriber growth. With introduction of better plans and innovative offers, loyalty of customers was built while ensuring higher net addition of subscribers each month. He lead, mentored, and motivated entire sales team in field and managed pricing and designed company's sales incentive plans. He spearheaded the sales operations and increased national and international roaming revenues along with national and international long distance revenue, optimizing the utilization of underlying network and covering additional territories.
Prior to Airtel, Jacob worked with Spice Telecom in Karnataka as Vice President Sales & Marketing and served them for 5 years. He was responsible for the overall sales operation, distribution, channel management, corporate, transmission business, print & electronic media and retail showrooms. He along with his team built the powerful brand image of Spice Telecom by aligning it with local lingo which appealed to general masses. He was instrumental in introducing new schemes and plans which helped company increase its subscriber base phenomenally in short span of time. He had a distinction of launching many innovative value added services which were for first of their kind in the country like mobile ticketing, PDA on normal phones etc.
Jacob also worked with Wrigley’s in various senior and middle level sales management capacities and worked right from the inception of the company in India. He was responsible for setting up the distribution network and sales operation across many parts of the country and was heading the South, North and Western regions of the country during his stint of 5+ years. He was known for his hands-on approach and had worked very closely with the field staff. He mentored and trained them in promoting effective sales and merchandising of short shelf life impulse products.
Jacob started his career with ITC tobacco division in Vizag branch and later moved to Hyderabad branch and has worked in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. With ITC, he worked in large markets like Hyderabad, Vizag to rural market with less than 5K population. He worked with them close to 5 years and had experience in launching some of the best brands. He also had an opportunity to work with the marketing team in building branded shops like Wills and Gold Flake shops in Hyderabad and major towns of AP. He also handled major events like Classic Derby, Wills Cricket , Bristol Motocross etc during his association with ITC.
Apart from Sales and Marketing, Jacob was also associated with All India Radio – Hyderabad for 7 years during college and university days and used to present features, talks, short stories and plays for Yuva Vani English Channel.
Jacob has an MBA from Osmania University, Hyderabad - India, with specialization in marketing. He has a passion for photography, cameras & lenses and adventure tours. He likes to play tennis and squash which helps him keeping fit.
